Sam Bat Fall League Baseball

HISTORY - SAM BAT & SBFL BASEBALL

The Resurgence of Wood Bats

Across North America there are  increasing numbers of wood bat leagues. And there is growing consensus among baseball coaches that practicing with wood bats makes players better hitters.  A common concern among major league scouts is that youth are not practicing enough with wood bats and the transition to playing professional baseball is more difficult for those coming from High School and the US college system.  According to Jack Perconte, former Major League player and author of bestselling book The Making of a Hitter “Hitting fundamentals develop quicker with wood bats.”

Sam Bat was the first maple bat approved by major league baseball in 1998. Since, it has become the market leader for quality and performance with over 100 professional players using a Sam Bat today.  For a partial list of who is using Sam Bat click here.

In 2012, The Original Maple Bat Corporation granted the North American licencesing rights for Sam Bat Fall League baseball programs to Power Alley Marketing.  That fall, the first Sam Bat Fall League baseball program was launched in Ottawa in conjunction with the Ottawa Royals Baseball Club.  The program sold out in just three weeks with over 130 participants the program.
